I try to use your expression in my English class and
business, it always got success.
|
Who do you think is cooler, Bob or Rob?
Speaking of cool, the winner is .... yeah, Rob! (Sorry
Bob, you are ... smart but funny.) But I know Rob

it.

| Maria Rodrigues - Sao Paulo, Brazil |
Tell us a little about yourself.
My love story with English is old. When I was in
high school my first English teacher came and said :
in English we don´t have those graphic signs like
we have in French, where sometimes we have two
or even three "signs" in just one word. and then, I
started to like English, especially because she was a
very good and charming teacher.
Because of her, some friends and I applied for a
scholarship through American Field Service and we
had the opportunity to live in the States for one
year as foreign exchange students, so our
education was greatly influenced by the american
way of life.
Back home I went to the University of Sao Paulo,
and then became an English teacher. I taught
mostly at public schools and at Language Institutes.
Nowaday I teach English "in company" and also
translate books from English to Portuguese. |
Why are you studying English?
I always feel that I need more practice, especially
conversation and listening practice.
|
How long have you been a Bob and Rob Show listener?
I think one year now.
|
What do you like about the Bob and Rob Show?
I like it because it's natural and easy going. The topics discussed are interesting.
|
Who do you think is cooler, Bob or Rob?
What a tricky question! Both of you are very cool
and funny and you are not pretending to be those
computer experts who frighten everybody, as you
confess that you are having problems, and so on. I
also like the colloquial way you address people like:
will you do me a favor, etc. as one feels he/she is
not talking to a machine and you really care for
people.
Congratulations for your work! |

| Víctor - Bilbao, Spain |
Tell us a little about yourself.
I'm 31 and I was born in Gijón, a nice town located
in Asturias (North of Spain). Currently I'm living (and
working) in Bilbao which is famous, among other
things, for the groundbreaking and silver
Guggenheim Museum. I work as Software Architect
for a security software company.
One might say that I'm tech geek…..not really..
well, just a bit. J I'm an ordinary guy that is strongly
interested not only in technology and computing
but also in travelling, cooking, reading, learning
English, putting my body in motion (also known as
sport), and so on....In short, It's all about enjoying
life and learning things. |
Why are you studying English?
The main reason is my job because English is the
official language in tech business. Furthermore, I
love learning other languages. I find it difficult but
really motivating. It seems to me almost unreal
when one is able to recognize words where, months
before, only heard noises. |
How long have you been a Bob and Rob Show listener?
I became a member just a couple of months ago.
However, I've been listening to you since about a
year. I've been talking about you to my coworkers
and now they're also listening to the show… I'm
spreading the Word ;)
|
What do you like about the Bob and Rob Show?
Perhaps, the thing I like the most is the English you use. It sounds to me, at the same time, clear and real. I was used to BBC "plastic" English that sounds, somehow, a bit fake. Simply put, ordinary people don't talk like BBC and you do. The Phrasal verb and Idioms section is a case in point. |
Who do you think is cooler, Bob or Rob?
Both of you are doing a great job. Keep it up guys!!
|

Why are you studying English?
1 .I wanna elevate my personal value.
2. I wanna travel abroad without frustration.
|
How long have you been a Bob and Rob Show listener?
Just a few weeks. |
What do you like about the Bob and Rob Show?
1. The conversation is so natural and the topics are various and enjoyable.
2. It has student's guides so that I can check my understanding.
3. I can enjoy the cultural differences between US and UK.
4. I can enjoy additional functions such as Blog, Vocab, Grammar and so on. |
Who do you think is cooler, Bob or Rob?
This is the hardest question for me! I received this e-mail from Bob, so I must say Bob is cooler...surely....maybe.... |
