Press release: Financial Crisis SALE!

PRESS RELEASE:

Bob and Rob (of the world famous Bob and Rob Show) announced early Friday morning at a press conference that they will be reducing the price of their archives, from $99 to $69.  When asked about this, Bob replied: “Well, times are tough, and we felt it was the right thing to do.”  Rob, however, was quick to point out that there would be no bailouts for show listeners: “At this time we are mostly focusing on supporting large financial institutions and the commerical paper market. However, we feel the archive price reduction will provide some relief to those listeners hit hardest by the crisis.”

Hello.

Welcome to the Bob and Rob Show, and thanks for stopping by!

The Bob and Rob Show is a variety show for learning English, which was produced from May 2005 to September 2008. It’s aimed at intermediate to advanced level learners.

Often the hardest part of studying a language is staying motivated. Ideally learning should be enjoyable, which is why we try our very best to create English lessons that are not only effective, but also entertaining (not to mention zany!).

Enjoy our free shows, and purchase our archives for a lengthy adventure in English.

Goodbye.

Dear Listeners,

After 3 enjoyable years of doing the Bob and Rob Show, our podcast will end this September. Thank you so much for being a part of our community.

Bob has received a new job in southern Japan, and because of the distance from Tokyo, it will be impossible for us to continue doing the show. (We did consider trying to use Skype, but decided that it would not be practical.)

We really enjoyed getting to know so many interesting people throughout the world. We hope
that we were able to make your English learning endeavors just a bit more interesting and enjoyable; it certainly was a great experience for us.

To your success,
Bob and Rob

Rob and I are thinking of creating quizzes for each weekly show. Please take a few minutes and try this sample quiz, and let us know what you think. Would you be interested in something like this?

P.S. You’ll need the Flash player installed.

Check out this website.

Jiri, a Bob and Rob Show listener, writes:

I always knew that it would be great if there was a free database of teachers and students and they could meet there, communicate and maybe start with some learning/teaching sessions over the internet.

So I developed one!

http://www.teachandstudy.com

It is a place for all who study languages and need to find an appropriate teacher, native speaker, or editor. (of course teachers can find and contact students as well)

On the home page in the lower section I also introduce podcasting to our students, so they can practice by listening as well. In the section ESL … there is a list of ESL podcasts (similar to the one I published earlier at EPOTI, if you were there) … and I linked the Bob and Rob show and wrote about it. If you go there, you can read how I see your podcast and if you wish, I can update the description with what you think would be appropriate. You can let me know via the email and I’ll update it for you.

I was hoping that you would like this project and could let people know about it in some of your podcasts. I believe it will be a great contribution to your audience, because as I know, many people struggle to find a native speaker to practice, or a teacher on-line.

I hope you’ll like the site.

With best regards,

Jiri Pekhart

Welcome to Our New Site.

Well, after a year of wanting to upgrade the design of our site, finally the day haswelcome arrived! Rob and I hope you will find our new layout easier to navigate. It certainly is much prettier and cleaner than the old site.

In the coming weeks, we’ll be improving the user experience even more, so please send us any feedback you have.

Last, but not least, a very special thanks to Adriano, our gifted web designer.
